Seminar Location

The Department of Agricultural Economics and Engineering (DEIAgra) of the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna is located in the east wing (right side of the picture below) of the main building of the College of Agriculture, Viale Giuseppe Fanin, 50, close to the Bologna Agri-food Center (Centro Agroalimentare di Bologna, also known as CAAB).

The Seminar will be held in the Main Hall (Aula Magna) located in the same building at the number 44-46, north wing, in the center of the picture below.

The main building of the College of Agriculture is close to the Bologna Agri-food Center (Centro Agroalimentare di Bologna, also known as CAAB or Fruit and Vegetables Wholesale Market).



How to reach us

By bus:

The College of Agriculture is about 6 km far from the downtown of Bologna, and it is connected by a rather frequent bus service. Currently, a one-hour journey ticket costs 1.00 € and it can be cheaper if you purchase a 10-travel discount ticket called "CITY-PASS" (convenient for longer periods of stay) for a price of 8.50 €.

From the Railway Station, take the bus line 35 (direction "FACOLTA' DI AGRARIA") till the second-last stop (CAAB stop). The trip takes about 45 minutes.

Another option is to take the bus line 20 (direction PILASTRO) from Piazza Maggiore (the main square) or via Indipendenza, in the centre of Bologna. In this case, get off at the bus stop "DELEDDA" (ask the driver). From there you can either walk for about 600 meters, or take the bus line 35 or 55 till the second-last stop (CAAB stop).

By taxi:

Ask the driver to bring you at the "FACOLTA' di AGRARIA, vicino al CAAB" or show him the printout of the following:

The taxi fare is quite variable, depending on the trip duration and on the distance. Normally, it varies between 9 and 15 €.

By car:

The College of Agriculture is also easily accessible from the A1, A13, and A14 motorways.

From the A1 and A13 motorways

After the toll barriers, follow the directions Tangenziale - San Lazzaro di Savena, on the highway. Take the exit "8 bis - CAAB/Granarolo". Follow the directions towards CAAB.

From the A14 motorway

After the toll barriers, follow the directions Tangenziale - Casalecchio di Reno, on the highway. Take the exit "8 - Granarolo/CAAB". Follow the directions towards CAAB.

By train:

Bologna is easily reached from all parts of the country. It is a major railway junction with direct services to South, North, Northwest and Northeast Italy.

By airplane:

The Bologna Airport "G. Marconi" is reachable directly from many European and International airports. From the airport, you may take the BLQ Aerobus up to the Railway Station bus stop (special bus fare: 6 EUR). There you can take the bus line 35 (regular 1-hour bus ticket fare, 1 EUR. Be careful to take the direction "FACOLTA' DI AGRARIA") and get off at the second-last stop (CAAB bus stop). The trip is quite long, since it may take more than 1 hour, altogether. Taking a taxi is much easier, since they can drive on the Highway (Tangenziale) and, provided there are no traffic jams, you may reach the College of Agriculture in about 15-20 minutes, for an average fare of about 15 EUR.
