Liu Ruifeng, who participated in the scholar exchanges of the BEAN-QUORUM project, defended his doctoral dissertation at the Xinjiang Agricultural University.

The dissertation has the following title: "Study on Production, Consumption and Policy Effects of Geographical Indication Agricultural Products in Xinjiang". It deals with the analysis of the potential and actual market characteristics of GI products from Xinjiang (Akesu apple and Kuerle fragrant pear), following the logic sequence “demand-motivation-behavior-effect-management”. It analyses the input & output of producers, their behavior in quality control, the perception and purchase behaviour of consumers, as well as the producers and consumers response to supervision policies.
